Landslide disrupts traffic flow
On August 19, 2025, continuous heavy rainfall caused a landslide on the Murree–Islamabad Expressway. Large rocks rolled down the hillside and blocked one side of the road, forcing authorities to temporarily close that section. However, the opposite lane remains open for traffic to ensure partial movement.
Authorities begin restoration work
Repair and clearance operations are underway as teams work to remove debris and stabilize the affected area. Officials confirmed that the blocked side will be reopened once it is declared safe for commuters.
Travelers advised caution
Due to the ongoing rains, experts have warned of possible further landslides. Travelers are strongly advised to avoid unnecessary journeys to hilly areas until weather conditions improve.
